Established in 1998, Creative Dental Ceramics has successfully grown to become one of New Zealand’s most innovative dental laboratories. Based in East and West Auckland, we specialise in implants, crowns, bridges, veneers and all removable prosthetics.
Born in 1960 to Austrian immigrant parents in South Africa, Mike completed a National Higher Diploma in Dental Technology in 1985.
After immigrating to New Zealand in 1996, Mike established ‘Creative Dental Ceramics Laboratory’ in 1998.
Mike is kept very busy running the many facets of the businesses that is Creative Dental Ceramics. He spends a lot of time developing new business concepts and product lines, as well as staff training and Quality Control using the skills gained over a vast number of years in the dental industry.
Married to Lucy, Mike has numerous hobbies, including golf, fishing, and motor sport but places a high priority on spending time with his family and children – Anthony, Hayleigh, Julie and Taryn and grandson Christopher.
Senior Dental Technician
A true blue Kiwi, Ross hails from Wanganui and Graduated from C.I.T. with a certificate in Dental Technology in 1984. Ross spent 13 years in the New Zealand Army Dental Corps, learning his craft.
Having joined Creative Dental Ceramics in 2007, Ross is considered our Resident Implant and CAD/CAM expert. With a wealth of knowledge in these fields, he is instrumental in the design, quality control and communication with clients in this regard.
Ross is married to Lianne and has two adult children, Matthew and Victoria.
An avid armchair sportsman and Tottenham Hotspur fan, Ross’s hobbies include golf and keeping fit at the gym.
Senior Dental Technician
From Cape Town in South Africa, Sharon initially qualified as a Dental Assistant before gaining a National Diploma in Dental Technology from Peninsula Technikon.
After immigrating to New Zealand in 2005, Sharon took up a position with Creative Dental Ceramics in 2007 is the head of the Prosthetic Team, who provide Quality workmanship and products to our resident Clinical Technicians and other clients all over New Zealand.
Sharon is happily married, with adult girls and grandchildren.
Clinical Dental Technician
Born in South Africa, Graham’s initial Dental Technology experience was with the South African Army in 1970. He later completed an apprenticeship with Dental Mechanicians Board (SA) in 1976.
Graham immigrated to New Zealand in 1998 and is proud to call himself a ‘Kiwi’. In the same year he passed the Dental Technicians Board Registration exams. In 2003 Graham qualified with Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology.
Although only recently joining our team here at Creative Dental Ceramics and Denture Creations, Graham brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, coupled with his great sense of humor and comedic wit, he has already built a great patient base.
Graham is married to Kerrie and has two adult children (twins) and two grandsons. He enjoys riding his BMW motorbike, exploring New Zealand and spending time with his grandchildren.
2IC Prosthetic Denture Department/ Clinical Dental Technician
Gary hails from Durban in South Africa. He graduated from Natal Technikon in 1998 with a National Diploma in Dental Technology and then gained further qualification in 1999 with a Bachelor of Technology in Dental Technology.
Gary immigrated to New Zealand in 2010 and also commenced employment with Creative Dental Ceramics at the same time bringing with him his specialty in Hi Quality Prosthetic Denture work.
Since joining Creative Dental Ceramics, Gary has completed and qualified as a Clinical Dental Technician gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Creative Dental Technology.
Gary is married to Tracey and has two young children – Chloe and Ryan.
Consultant Crown & Bridge Rehabilitation Specialist
Born in South Africa, Graham attended Witwatersrand University where he obtained his BDS (Wits RSA) in 1978. Graham was in private practice mainly reconstructive dentistry but also was a part-time Clinical Supervisor of crown & bridge at the University of Western Cape.
He was the Clinical Supervisor for Prosthetics at Stellenbosch Dental School. Graham immigrated to New Zealand in 1998 adding NZDREX to his BDS (Wits RSA) Graham has his own practice – ‘Dentalcare NZ Ltd’ in both Palmerston North and Wanganui where he specializes in Crown and Bridgework and fixed Orthodontics.
Receptionist and Personal Assistant
Born in England, Kerry was educated in the English school system and then further qualifying as a Dental Assistant (RDSA) in 1985.
Kerry immigrated to New Zealand in 1993 where she also gained her NZDA qualification in 1996. She has over 20 years dental chair side experience including 10 years as an Implant and Oral Surgical Assistant.
Kerry joined our team at Creative Dental Ceramics in 2009 and has used her wealth of experience in Practice Management to assist in the smooth running of Creative Dental Ceramics and Denture Creations.
Kerry is married and has two children. She enjoys her healthy, happy lifestyle here in New Zealand.
General Laboratory Assistant
Born in Portugal and having lived in Moçambique and South Africa, Maria immigrated to New Zealand in 1998 and joined Creative Dental Ceramics in 2004.
Maria is responsible for the manufacture of all the crown and bridge departments models and assists in many other roles in the company.
Maria is married to Clive and has two adult children.
Prosthetic Dental Technician
Zahra was born in Iran (Persia). She is part of a family of five, along with her parents she has two older brothers, Zahra describes herself as a typical younger sister.
Zahra has experienced life in a number of countries since leaving Iran, namely Australia and the UK, gaining life experience along the way.
Upon immigrating to New Zealand, Zahra attended Otago University gaining a Bachelor Of Dental Technology in 2013. In 2014 Zahra commenced employment at Creative Dental Ceramics in the Prosthetic Denture Department.
Zahra enjoys most sports in general but has a great interest in tennis & soccer. She lists dance, music, movies, craft and computer gaming among her hobbies, she is most happy when she can make other people happy.
Crown & Bridge Dental Technician
Born in Fiji, Avenita completed her schooling in Suva and followed her parents immigrating to New Zealand in 2003. Avenita attended Otago University gaining a Bachelor of Dental Technology in 2012 and in 2013 commenced her employment journey with Creative Dental Ceramics.
Avenita is married to Krishneel and enjoys shopping, going to the gym, eating desserts and the art science that goes into make up.
State of the Art Laboratory
Our dental laboratory features a fully equipped dental surgery to compliment our well-designed workspace. It has a large floor space with predetermined areas for various manufacturing processes. All workbenches and seating are imported from Italy, providing the latest standards in ergonomics and safety.
Our systems and machinery are all of the highest standards, from differing suppliers and countries, creating a good mix of high quality production. We have multiple systems in place to allow overlap of processes, thus preventing downtime in production due to machinery breakdown and failure. All machinery is maintained either in house or by a service specialist, including regular calibration.
We have multiple CAD/CAM systems for many implant and restoration solutions, along with other in house production equipment allows us to be able to provide a solution to meet whatever need may arise.
Creative Dental Ceramics employ nine staff, each with many years of experience, and all specialists in their particular fields. All staff is cross-trained to allow them to support each with regard to workload and maintenance of work quality.
